Professional Development Program (PDP)
The Professional Development Program (PDP) aims to introduce Al-Quds University students to a portfolio of essential professional skills critical to identifying and successfully pursuing satisfying careers in local, regional and international job markets. Combined with their rigorous academic preparation, learning these skills will give students the tools they need to succeed in the real world.
Program Structure
· The program will consist of an 8-week course that will meet for 2 hours weekly and will be led by professional career counselors and coaches.
· Each meeting will include a lecture on a specific topic such as career planning, resume building and networking, in addition to interactive activities and exercises to give students a chance to practice the skills they are learning.
· Assignments include short activities such as taking self-assessments, writing a resume, performing a hypothetical job interview, and creating brief personal and professional background pitch for a networking event.
· Students will also receive supplementary material including handouts and presentations associated with the week's class, in addition to other useful resources to support their professional development.
