Al-Quds University completed its graduation ceremony by celebrating the faculties of Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Economics, and Law

Jerusalem | Al-Quds University completed the graduation ceremony of the 40th cohort of its undergraduate studies and the thirty-ninth cohort of Graduate Studies. The last day of the four-day ceremony celebrated the graduation of students from the faculties of Engineering, Science and Technology, Business and Economics, and Law

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Hanna Abdel Nour said in his address that “the achievements the graduates have made are the outcome of the numerous experiences and skills they acquired in their academic study, whether through in-person classes or field practice”. He called on the graduates to contribute to the advancement of the Palestinian society and its economy to achieve a better future.

Dean of the College of Science and Technology Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Hajj praised this year’s graduates for their ability to overcome the challenges with knowledge and hard work. He congratulated the graduates, describing them as “the cohort of struggle, leadership, challenge, and excellence”.

Abul-Hajj stressed on the college’s endeavor to achieve knowledge and continuous training by utilizing up-to-date means and tools to develop the educational environment, particularly by providing modern classrooms and laboratories.

Dr. Muhammad Khalaf, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, spoke in his address about the privileges and the rights that the students are now entrusted with, stressing the importance of adhering to their freedom, opinions and creativity wherever they go.

He congratulated the graduates and their families on behalf of the university, noting that they should take into account the implementation of the right in their professional careers in order to advance their society.

Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics Dr. Firas Barakat conveyed to the graduates the wishes of President of Al-Quds University, Prof. Imad Abu Kishek, for a prosperous future, expressing his pride in the graduates who are ready to join the labor market despite the unprecedented obstacles brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic.

He pointed to the faculty members’ role in assisting students to obtain knowledge and experience, in addition to their quest for the advancement of the faculty despite all difficulties.

It is worth noting that Al-Quds held this year’s graduation over 4 days, given the threats of the Coronavirus pandemic. The university celebrated on the first day the graduation of students from the faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy. On the second day of the four-day ceremony it celebrated the graduation of the 40th cohort of the students of the faculties of Arts, Qur’an and Da’wa, Educational Sciences, and the 39th cohort of the students of Graduate Studies, and on third day it celebrated the graduation of students from the faculties of Public Health and health Professions.

The four-day ceremony featured addresses by the deans of the different faculties who stressed on the tremendous efforts the university has made to encounter the threats posed by spread of Coronavirus, praising the cooperation of all the constituents of Al-Quds University’s community in bringing the academic year to success. The ceremony also featured addresses by a number of graduates who thanked the university’s administration, academics, and staff for helping them to achieve graduation.
