The Faculty of Pharmacy held a white coat ceremony for the third year pharmacy students sponsored by the Student Youth Movement. The event was held in the presence of Al-Quds University President, Dr. Imad Abu Kishek, the Palestinian Federation President of Pharmaceutical Industries, Dr. Firas Nasir al-Din, the Palestinians Head of pharmacists, Dr Mahmoud Dofash, and the Deans of the Medical Centre Faculty.

The ceremony started with a speech from Dr. Imad Abu Kishek, when he expressed his pride in pharmaceutical students within this distinctive college at the university. Dr. Abu Kishek explained that the ceremony was to recognize third students for passing the theoretical stage of their studies successfully.

Dr. Abu Kishek also stressed the importance of integrating the theoretical framework with a practical one so the students are able to keep up with the markets demands. By enhancing their skills through training in companies from their first year, students are now replicating a fine tuned model as observed in Germany.

Furthermore, the Dean of Pharmacy Faculty, Dr Yousef Al-Najajra, said “the distinction of this faculty is as a result of an abundance of research that exceeds the current rate of research in the Arab world”. Dr Najajra also confirmed the importance of having practical, technical and life skills as well as professional proficiency, as these have a major role in future successes.
