Healthcare simulation in radiography and radiation safety

In joint cooperation between the Medical Imaging Department/ Faculty of Health Professions at Al-Quds University (AQU) and the Palestinian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (PAMRT), Medical Imaging Department announced commencing the application of simulation software as an educational method in the specialty of medical imaging for the courses of Radiographic Procedures/Positioning and in the course of Radiation Protection/Safety.

The software is provided by the Virtual Medical Coaching company, a global leader in Virtual Reality medical simulation software. The company specializes in the field of Virtual Medical Education, and based in New Zealand, expressed interest and willingness to contribute and support Palestinian medical imaging students, by granting the Medical Imaging Department at AQU a free subscription to the program.

The Medical Imaging Department at AQU has taken an important step towards applying simulation in academic education, which is considered the first of its kind in the field of medical imaging among Palestinian universities.

The software was obtained through joint efforts between the PAMRT and the Medical Imaging Department, AQU. This achievement reflects the effective collaboration and strong partnership between the academic sector, represented by AQU, and the professional sectors, represented by the PAMRT.

This simulation software will contribute significantly to developing the skills and competencies of our students and trainees in the field of medical imaging, and will enable them to gain the practical experience necessary to provide high-quality health services. We appreciate the efforts of the PAMRT and look forward to building a promising and prosperous future for the profession with continued cooperation between the two parties.
