Under the partnership with Masaryk University, Czeck Republic, Al-Quds University (AQU) hosted Dr. Vera Stogarova. Professor of Political Science, Dr. gave guest lectures to student of the European Studies in coordination with the Institute of Global Studies.
The lecture provided an overview of the six countries in the Western Balkans: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, followed by an analysis of the political and ethnic relations among these countries in the post war era.
Dr. Stogarova also participated in many events at Al-Quds Bard College, including a lecture to the college’s students and teachers during which she discussed certain aspects of the historical and contemporary propaganda and information warfare and the difference between these aspects of propaganda in the East and West.
In another lecture to students of the Global Citizenship class, she explained the ethno-national divisions in post war Yugoslavia, their effects on stability and citizenship rights in new states, and the challenges that obstruct sustainable peace.
Dr. Stogarova visited the university’s Community Action Center in Jerusalem, where she was briefed about the pro bono legal and social services that are provided to the local community to support steadfastness in the city.
