Al-Quds University in cooperation with the Palestinian American Research Center (PARC) held a seminar about faculty development, in Al-Jamal Multi-Purpose Hall in the main campus of the University.
Dr. Nibal Khalil, Dean of Scientific Research, expressed the importance of holding these kinds of seminars at AQU which aim to connect academics from AQU with academics from different American Universities.
Dr. Khalil added that the seminar, which is the sixth seminar that was held at AQU, gathered academics from different specialties to discuss the development of academics capabilities through cooperative research and academic exchange.
The Director of PARC, Mrs. Penelope Mitchell, said that this center tends to support education, exchange and studies scholarly research in the field of Palestinian studies for 15 years. “The seminar that was held today, and 11 academics participated in, was as complementing step to this cooperation.”
“We found common interests during the review of the academic programs, which strengthening the linkages among Palestinian and American Institutions. Also, the workshop was a great experience that we should invest it.” This is how Dr. Amneh Badran; the Dean of Political science Department at AQU, described her participation in the seminar.
It is worth mentioning that PARC was founded in 1998 to improve scholarships about Palestinian affairs and to strengthen linkages among Palestinian and American institutions.
