Deanship of Student Affairs
At Al-Quds University (AQU), we are committed to helping every student gain access to education despite their ability to pay and believe that no cost should prevent a student from joining our community; therefore, we encourage you to explore the many options available to students through the Financial Aid Unit.
Established in 2005, the Financial Aid Program at AQU is the largest at the level of national universities. The Financial Aid Unit works to provide the best grants and scholarships for outstanding students and students in need. In addition, the Unit strives to build and maintain a good relationship with local and international donors.
The University provides several Financial Aid Programs to support students’ financial needs including loans, exemptions, and scholarships. Financial resources are distributed transparently according to the general conditions of the University and the unique criteria for each program.

The Student Council represents students’ interests before the management and the appropriate statutory bodies of the University. The Student Council is elected annually by the students. AQU student council elections represent democracy and liberty among AQU students.
A Preparatory Committee that includes faculty members, staff, and representatives from all the students’ blocs is established prior to the Elections by the Deanship of Student Affairs in order to regulate the laws and elections processes, including the elections campaign until the Secretary of the Student Council is formed.
The Student Council supervises the following activities:
- The student council and student clubs’ elections.
- Student activities such as celebrations, ceremonies, and social and national celebrations.
- Follow-up the academic cases of students in all faculties and help students during the registration period and guide them.
The Students’ Activities Unit supervises and organizes various activities and events (cultural, social, artistic, and athletic) and supports students’ clubs in preparing and organizing extracurricular activities. The Unit grants students the opportunity to show their skills and creativity through encouraging their participation in activities, supervising the establishment of student clubs, and supervising and sponsoring all student cultural, social, athletic, and artistic activities. The Unit is considered the main link with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research when it comes to talent competitions, and it represents the University’s squads locally and internationally.
Clubs & Cultural & Social Activities Division
Each year at the Student Activities Unit, we organize and supervise the AQU’s Graduation Ceremony. Also, at the beginning of each academic semester, we hold a ceremony to welcome new students and organize tours for students to familiarize them with our University Campus and their respective faculties. Furthermore, we organize tours for high school students to introduce them to our faculties and departments and encourage them to join our community at AQU. Our Unit also organizes other religious, patriot, and cultural celebrations.
At the Deanship of Student Affairs, we pay attention to extracurricular education and training. We organize courses and workshops such as life skills workshops, mental and psychological health workshops, first aid and self-defense, and CV writing and interview skills training courses.
The Clubs & Cultural & Social Activities Division is also responsible for organizing the social, artistic, and cultural activities of students, including activities such as the University Chorus Squad, Hult Prize Competition, art fairs, cultural-related activities such as theatre, debates, poetry, and prose talents, drawing, and short stories competitions. In addition, the Division organizes social activities that encourage students to give back to the community like visiting elderly homes, kindergartens, and orphanages.
Sports Activity Division
Students from various faculties of AQU participate in both individual and group sports organized and supervised by the Department of Physical Education including free daily activities, university tournaments, and the university championship, in addition to several international sports activities like the Palestinian Universities and the Palestinian Sport Federation championships. The Sports Activity Division supervises sports programs for both students and employees and represents the University in sports activities and competitions like football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, chess, and handball.
Psychosocial Support Unit
Setting out from the Deanship of Student Affairs vision for leadership and excellence, the Psychosocial Support Unit provides various services to university students to help them adapt to university life and provide them with a suitable environment during their university education.
The Psychosocial Support Unit offers psychological counseling services for University students in order to support and help them deal with various problems and challenges that may arise during their daily university life. In addition, guidance and consulting are provided to students on individual and group levels through a team of specialists. The Unit also organizes workshops and support initiatives that identify public problems and negative phenomena like behavioral health issues and harassment.
AQU strives to support the local community and has committed to promoting social involvement and community service. Volunteering and community service instill the values of cooperation and social responsibility among students towards community issues, enriching students’ personal experiences. Therefore, AQU has adopted voluntary work as a graduation requirement for BA students.
The Voluntary Work Unit overseas projects and programs that provide services for the local community. The Voluntary Work Unit organizes several daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual volunteering initiatives like olive harvesting, blood donation, breast cancer awareness, and field visits to patients in hospitals. Students can also volunteer in activities and celebrations organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and other organizations outside the University.

In support of the vision and the mission of AQU, the Deanship of Student Affairs advocates for student needs through a range of programs that aim to help cultivate and promote the success and wellness of every student at AQU; thus, helping them to make the most of their time at AQU.
The Deanship of Student Affairs at AQU is committed to serving our community. Therefore, we give students the opportunity to earn more than just merely a degree. First, we support students in need through our Financial Aid Unit in order to support their rights for accessible education. Second, the Deanship of Student Affairs is the cornerstone and the main communication channel between the University Management, Faculties, and Students. Third, the Deanship of Student Affairs is committed to helping students discover their talents, personal skills, and potentials. So, we engage students in extracurricular activities, community service, and social engagements that enrich the student experience and promote personal growth as well as academic interest. The Deanship of Student Affairs at AQU encourages and supports students’ success by providing a variety of opportunities and support services, programs, and activities to enrich and enhance the students’ experience both personal and academic. The Deanship of Student Affairs focuses on the extracurricular students’ activities, where students can be creative in all aspects. The Deanship of Student Affairs is supervised by the Dean of Student Affairs. The mission of the Deanship of Student Affairs is to enrich the experience of every student at Al-Quds University through a wide range of educational, cultural, athletic, and social programs, as well as creating opportunities to build students’ personalities, creativity, and skills in a safe, democratic, and free environment.
At the Deanship of Student Affairs, we maintain a cordial relationship with the students. Many of our programs and services help students develop a connection to AQU, supporting both their academic and personal success. The staff at the Deanship of Student Affairs advises student groups on a variety of issues including goal setting and event planning, represents students’ interest before management and appropriate statutory bodies of the University, and provides guidance and guidelines on students’ conduct.
