Al-Quds University (AQU) and the University of Jordan (UJ) signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint Master program in Criminology.

The agreement  proposed, which is part of the academic cooperation accord that have been signed between the two universities in different disciplines, that  the  execution of this program and its circulation will be  achieved jointly  between the two universities, as well as being accredited by the competent institutions in the two countries:  the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research & The Palestinian Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education (AQAC  Palestine) .

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the president of Al-Quds University Prof. Imad Abu Kishek and the President of the University of Jordan Prof. Azmi Mahafzah, in the presence of high-level officials of the two Universities.

This agreement pointed out the mechanism of students’ admission to this program, which will follow the applicable instructions used by the University of Jordan taking into account the admission requirements into MA, according to which Al-Quds university will be sending a lists of  application   candidates to the University of Jordan to accept an agreed upon number of students.

According to the agreement terms, this program will adopt the grading system applicable in the University of Jordan, and the graduate students will receive a Master’s degree labeled with the logos of both the UJ and AQU after being accredited by the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The agreement also addressed aspects concerning the courses that will be set and specified by the two universities, the tuition fees, the registration and students’ data. As well as the execution of the program jointly with AQU adopting the courses outline set by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Jordan.

The two parts expressed their hopes and wishes to the success of this program which seeks to graduate qualified individuals who are specialized in terrorism, victims and poverty, besides conducting researches related to theories of criminal justice and crime.
